Working in an experiential way with young children around hearing and sounds
CEGO Publishers

Prick up your ears! is the first volume of a new series of educational tools about senses and technology. These tools are developed by ECEGO (the Centre for Experiential Education, Leuven University), RVO-S (the Roger Van Overstraeten Society) and IMEC (Interacademic Centre for Micro-electronics, Leuven).
“Prick up your ears!” consists of a manual, a series of instruction cards, a workbook and a CD-ROM.
Starting point is the picture book “Edward” (by Brigitte Minne and Jan De Kinder, De Eenhoorn Publishers).
Edward seems to be a disobedient little rabbit. “Finish your dish”,  Mum says. But Edward doesn’t listen. “Will you clean up your room?” Dad asks. But Edward stays disobedient. Even when Dad makes a lot of noise, Edward doesn’t look up. Then Mum and Dad realize that something is wrong. A doctor finds out that Edward’s ears are not functioning well. Fortunately, a special cap made by a professor solves the problem…

“Prick up your ears!” is the ideal tool to get children acquainted with deafness and hardhearing.
