Twin Books - foreign rights

Twin Books is a new series of four volumes written by Rien Broere. He is also the author of the Heart-to-Heart Books, a series that has been sold to 13 countries.
The Twin Books show us the difference between children, a difference which is determined by elements they cannot influence, like race, surroundings, looks ... These differences can lead to physical, social, sexual and racial discrimination, caused by the difference itself or by the way other people react to it. The main characters are two children of the same age. They could have been twins, but fate has decided they were born to be different: rich or poor, good or bad looking, white or coloured, boy or girl.

In this story the leading characters are Starlet and Tim. Tim is staying with his niece Starlet for a week. Tim comes from a traditional family. His father has a job, his mother is a housewife. Tim is a little rascal; tough but kind, so to say.
Starlet grows up in a totally different environment. They live a bit unorganised and sometimes even chaotic. A family that tries to have a creative way of living, but just as warm and friendly. At the beginning of the week Tim went to ballet class with Starlet. The things he saw and heard there impressed him a lot. All he ever thought about dance before, was swept away all at once. What he saw, came closer to sport or acrobatics than the old-fashioned idea he had about ballet...
